Slope Point, the southern most point of the South Island

Going south!
My goal was to go as far south as possible on the South Island. There’s a saying that says “From Cape Reinga to Bluff” meaning you have travelled all across New Zealand from north to south. But in fact Slope Point, located in the Catlins, is as far south as you can go on the South Island. A bit further off land lies Stewart Island, but the weather did not cooperate with me, so Slope Point it was!
Reaching Slope Point needs some work. You get there after a 13km gravel road and a 20 minute walk surrounding by sheep on one side, eh this is New Zealand, and sea gulls above you playing in the winds. The Southern ocean is right there, the South Pole being just over 4000km south! This is the southern most point I have been to so guess what my next challenge will be!
