From Te Anau, the usual trip is to Milford Sound. But if you want there’s a day trip up to the shores of Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak’s Station. You end up on the other side of Lake Wakatipu with a view of Queenstown on the other side. It is a fantastic day trip and a good change from the usual Milford Sound trip. You need to enjoy off-road though!
