Crossing 39 Degrees South – A road trip
From Rotoru to New Plymouth via Tongariro National Park and the Forgotten World Highway
As I was looking at the map to prepare my route from Rotorua I read about the Forgotten World Highway and the Republic of Whangamomona. SH43, the Forgotten World Highway, is an amazing stretch of road running from Taumarunui to Stratford. It is about 160km long and takes you through scenery that is just unbelievable. The vistas are incredible and the road is too! Once again in NZ I wished I was on my motorbike!
And this was experienced just after driving through the Tongariro National Park!
