Queens and Apsaras @ Angkor
Wherever you go in the temples Apsaras are everywhere
Apsaras are all over the walls of the temples of Angkor. They are beautiful, supernatural female beings. They are youthful and elegant, and superb in the art of dancing. They dance to the music made by the Gandharvas, usually in the palaces of the gods, entertain and sometimes seduce gods and men.
Jayavarman VI is considered to be the most powerful Khmer king of all times. His face is all over the temples of Angkor and especially at the Bayon. He married twice; when his first wife Princess Jayarajadevi died, he married her sister Indradevi. Both can be seen in the gallery below.
