Driving up the West Coast

From Bluff to Te Anau
So from Slope Point the only way was up, i.e. North following the west coast getting closer to Fiordland first and then Glacier country. My first stop was Te Anau, considered to be the entry point to Fiordland.
The drive up from Invercargill takes you on the Southern Scenic Road. The name does not come close to describing the sights and scenes in front of your eyes. As most of the time, you want to stop every 5 minutes to take in the views, each one being more beautiful than the other. And then, you round a corner and the Southern Alps are there on the horizon, their peaks still capped with snow, you just can’t wait to get there. Patience is the name of the game here as you still have a way to go before reaching them.
