Balloons, temples and fun in the sun

One of the must-do activities in Bagan, aside from visiting all the temples, is to get up very early and checkout the sunrise. Over the years many temples have been closed due to so-called tourists abusing the sites, and that is a damn shame… There are still have temples where you can sneak in to try and catch the sight of the balloons taking off over Bagan and get a nice view of all the temples. Same thing has happened for sunsets. Once again hordes of tourists trying to copy some of the beautiful images that have been made in Bagan with no regard for the environment, the temples or the locals have ruined it for the rest of us.

Still you can get some decent views!
