Flying the De Havilland Tiger Moth, a mythical pilot training aircraft
I had already planned some mountain flying training in Queenstown, more about that later, but that Wanaka, home to Warbirds over Wanaka a biennial air show featuring many WW1 and WW2 planes flying in, is also home to a small Warbird Museum.
So on my way to check it out, I noticed on the apron a number of planes that caught my attention. They belong to Classic Flights, so I walked and was warmly greeted by Peter. Then and there I made the decision to go on a flight. After a few minutes discussion, Peter offered to put me in the back seat, i.e. the Pilot in Command seat, and use the time in the air for an introduction to type, the Tiger Moth being an older plane, a tail dragger, a spinner and many things. He also offered to attach my Gopro to the wing for some great footage.
